Very Brave Girl
09.05.07 (10:18 am) [edit]I've been thinking about having the top of my ear pierced for some time. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law have all had it done for some time and I thought to myself, I'm nearly 40, lets do something brave!
So yesterday I went and had it done. My mother-in-law swore hers didn't hurt! I had to wait for 30 mins as the piercer was the only one in the shop and there was no-one to cover.
So, at 12.15 I went back and had it done. The piercer was very helpful, she put the dot in quite a few places but in the end we went for a similar place to my mother-in-law, about 1/2 inch from the top of my ear. She sprayed a freezing spray on my ear. I thought to myself, I can still feel my ear and then she started "skewering" my ear. I felt the needle pass through my cartlidge as you have to push it fairly hardly through. I didn't make a sound. She then proceeded to drop the earring twice and had to reinsert it through.
I now have an earring in my right ear and it does look really nice!
I walked out of the shop with my mother-in-law, as we walked up to the car she asked me "did it hurt?" My reply was "You f.....king bitch, it f....king hurt alright!"
Sad News
08.31.07 (9:43 am) [edit]Paul came downstairs this morning and found my rabbit dead outside his hutch. We think he's been failing for a little while now but its still very upsetting. We think he was about 9 or 10 years old.

Long time no see

We've made some large purchases recently, Monkey Boy has a new car, a Vauxhall Vectra in a pleasing shade of dark blue which matches my hair and the more important one, a 42 inch plasma tv as our old one died. No Nat, I haven't checked out Damo in 42 inch yet....
Birthday Countdown
06.03.07 (11:07 am) [edit]Its my, or should I say our, birthday on the 14th June so its the big countdown until the day I'm 39 and thus enter my 40th year, doesn't that sound ancient!
My brother is buying me an MP3 player so I can take it on the plane. and to tell you the truth, everywhere! Now his player is rather large and we as a family have a habit of naming everything and thus his player is called "The Brick" or "Brick".
I thought that seeing it was his gift he should name it and as a consequence my pink MP3 player is called "Pebble" which I thought was quite clever and also quite pretty!
It will amuse me greatly to watch Monkey Boy listen to a pink MP3 player....
The Wait is Nearly Over.....
05.31.07 (6:01 pm) [edit]Tomorrow my Mum gets her new kittens, Flint and Orlando! Its a long and complicated story how she got them but they are from the same house as my naughty Lukie and I think that Flint could well be his half brother!
I will post pictures later on once they've settled down a bit (if they ever do!)
Feeling Low
05.15.07 (4:15 pm) [edit]For the last few days I've felt really down. I know things are looking up for me weightloss wise but I'm in a lot of physical pain especially with the rain we've had for the last few days and my insomnia has come back full force.
It sounds like I'm whinging I know but does anybody else get times like this?
Weight Update
05.09.07 (7:56 am) [edit]I got weighed yesterday. Now I thought I hadn't done very well as I "fell off" my diet the week after we had to have Indy put to sleep but.....
I lost 5lb! That makes 16lb in 2 months not bad going!
Advice Needed
05.08.07 (1:47 am) [edit]I've just spoken to my friend in Florida and we can go and stay with her. On looking at the flydrives online they seem to be very expensive. Should I wait until June/July and see if I can find anything cheaper or wait even longer? Advice needed please!

Just for Nat who may not have seen a recent picture of me! I've got my hair in a chin length (just don't ask which chin!) bob in a subtle shade of blue black! With my glasses on Paul says I remind him of a brunette Garcia from Criminal Minds and, as I think she rocks that is a huge compliment! Mind you, I could have done with combing it couldn't I.......
My hairdresser calls the fringe (or should I say bangs!) wonky and I want to grow it to roughly my shoulders. Its the first time in about 20 years that it is has been this length and straight. Monkey Boy still wishes it was blonde though....

05.02.07 (6:16 pm) [edit]I've put my foot down with a firm hand and told Monkey Boy that I want to go on holiday later in the year. Of course my destination of choice is sunny Florida!
There's a shuttle going up on the 20th October, now I've been to Florida 5 times and have never seen one go up, I've seen one come down but thats not quite the same!
He's trying to wheedle out of it by saying that he may have a rail tour to go on but I am desperate to see a shuttle go up being a total sci fi geek of the highest order!
I think half the fun is looking online for all the good deals, we'd like to go and stay in a villa with a pool but everything seems to be too large for us. Ah well, the search continues......
Very Upset
04.25.07 (9:30 am) [edit]Mum had to have Indy put to sleep yesterday, he was 16 1/2 and had a huge tumour in his jaw. We were told by another vet that it was only an abscess and should respond to treatment but I had my doubts. There is a picture of him in my profile, he's the ginger and white cat at the top of the stairs.
He knew who he liked, he liked me and Mum and everyone else could go to hell in a handbasket!

04.18.07 (2:07 pm) [edit]We've just been shopping at our local Asda (Walmart to you Nat!) and Monkey Boy went to pay some bills whilst I was mooching around the charity shop they have in the vicinty. I bought 2 books on real crimes (hey, I like that sort of thing) and a top. He asked me to put the bill receipts in the bag that I received from the shop and off we went merrily to have a shop and a bicker (Nat, you remember what that's like!)
Monkey Boy has just put the shopping away and asked me for the bag. As I can't carry heavy things he normally loads and unloads the car so I didn't keep tags on what was happening. As a consequence he left the bag, with my books and his bill receipts at the store. Guess who's just had to make a 20 minute round trip to go and retrieve the bag......
Heroes
04.17.07 (10:17 am) [edit]Can I just say how much this is rocking my world! A sure sign of a great tv show is when you can watch an hour and it seems to go past in about 5 minutes!
Even my Mum who is not a sci fi fan at all is watching it, although I'm fairly sure its just for Mohinder and Nathan!
This is another series that I can't wait to come out on dvd just to savour it all again.
Psycho Kittens
04.17.07 (10:14 am) [edit]There's a lot of scampering about in the household today. Normally its Lukie who is the Master of Ceremonies, and is the arch nemesis of naughtiness but today Beau is taking up the slack, he's already been told off by Daddy and me and its only 10.14!
I really must take some more pictures they're getting huge! Auntie AM swears that Luke has stolen the tail off a squirrel so I will try and take some pictures of his magnificent tail!

These are the States that I've visited on my holidays to America, I've been to Florida 5 times though, should that count as extra!
We stopped over in Philadephia on our way to Texas for 2 hours so I'm counting it as we had to go from one terminal to another!
My ambition is visit all of them one day.....

Weight Update
04.13.07 (7:14 pm) [edit]I went to see the nurse on Tuesday for my monthly weigh-in and I've lost in a month a grand total of 11lb! Go Me!
Special Operation
04.04.07 (6:28 pm) [edit]Well the time has finally come around for my kittens to have their "special operation". We took them to the vets and they were not happy at all about the road trip!
The vet examined Beau and told his that only one testicle had come down and he had to have a bigger operation to find it. The testicle ended up undescended and they had to go into his abodmen and remove it - what a poor baby!
They advised us to stop them from running and jumping around but they both have been fine, in fact I think the only thing that could possibly stop Luke might just be a nuclear bomb!
